Polystyrene ( PS for short) is a colorless and transparent thermoplastic, of which foamed polystyrene is commonly known as styrofoam (also known as Polyester, commonly known as styrofoam in Hong Kong). It has a glass transition temperature higher than 100 degrees Celsius, so it is often used to make a variety of disposable containers that need to withstand the temperature of boiling water, as well as disposable foam lunch boxes.
